Promoting Women-Led Community Climate Change Solutions and Health Research for Indigenous Knowledge Sharing in Kenya

Project Summary

Promoting Women-Led Community Climate Change Solutions and Health Research for Indigenous Knowledge Sharing in Kenya The project goal is to promote the indigenous knowledge uptake on health and climate change by strengthening collaborative research between grassroots women and researchers. We do this by empowering the grassroots women as citizen scientists and co-researchers so that together with researchers, practitioners and policy-makers they may resolve both health and climate change issues in their communities. Our focus is to include local women from three counties namely Narok, Kakamega and Siaya in the research processes. The Learning questions a) What forms of knowledge do grassroots women hold about how to adapt to a changing climate and health? b) How do we co-create learning platforms for sharing indigenous knowledge on climate change and health? c) What stakeholders need to be involved to promote indigenous knowledge sharing in health and climate change?

Organisation Snapshot

The Women's Climate Centers International – (WCCI), is women led organization dedicated to co-creating hubs for sustainable climate solutions with vulnerable communities.
